My guess would be that "silver" chains, 2+ tattoos, a darker "black", some green/pink writing on the shirt and "something white" would make the design visually more distinct.
"Emo" muddles the waters quite a bit.
The classic "goth" look is skinnier, so the torso should be longer and the entire design "could" be thinner - especially the arms and hands. The current neck is fine, though.
Consider depicting the character sitting on some stairs or kneeling rather than standing up. "They do not look depressed enough!" ;p
Visible scarring would help, but the thick lines of your style do not lend themselves well to that.
